Shown above are pictures taken in the main reading room of the KARA library, just a small sampling of what awaits the avid family history researcher upon arrival to our Research Centre. The KARA library contains one of the largest collections of family history material for the central-east Ontario region. Researchers and visitors to KARA are continually delighted by their discoveries of new resources on our library shelves.

Hillside Cemetery in Lakefield. This old cemetery opened in 1886 on land purchased from the Ross Lumber Company. Located on the north edge of the village the cemetery was originally intended to replace the one that surrounded Christ Anglican Church. Later the new cemetery became a community burial ground.
