Introduction to Genealogy Workshops at KARA 926 High Street, Peterborough, Ontario:
Saturday February 16 and Saturday February 23, 2008 from 10 a.m. til 12:30. These workshop sessions are offered for free, but due to limited space, participants must register to attend. Different material is covered during each of the two session dates. In week One: A look at the basics of searching birth, marriage and death records through the Ontario Vital Statistics registrations. Also in the first session: A Look at searching in parish records for baptism, marriage and burial information. In the second session: Searching for family information in the Ontario Census records. Also in the second session: A look at using other resources such as cemetery records, newspaper extracts, local city/rural directories and more.
